Simple Swap

I've decided I really want some snail mail. It's Spring and that is the perfect time to refresh everything! SO, with that in mind, if anyone is interested in a simple swap, let me know. The ground rules will be simple: it can be bought or made, big or small, from here or there, etc. How about just something that represents at least some part of who you are. That way, when the exchange is done, we'll each have a bit of someone else. I'll take names/addresses and hand out assignments.

If interested, post a reply here or email me (kathy at bluebeancreations dot com).

Tax time

Sorry for the delay in posting! Not to fear - I am here! And doing just fine, thanks for asking. Although, I did just get back from being stood up by my tax guy... Seriously? He hasn't even seen the books yet, so I can't have scared him off that much! Hmmm... Any last minute tax preparers out there? I really don't want to go the H&R Block route (nothing against the company, I just want to develop a business relationship with someone who won't look at my business and decide how much help to give me based on my revenue).

The funny thing about the whole episode was that I did meet a photographer while sitting at the Starbucks waiting. He may do my product shots for the website (that I promise is STILL COMING!) and stock imagery if I need it. He also thought I should look into modeling. How sweet. And no, it wasn't a come on or cheesy type thing. Who knows, now that I'm living close to LA, maybe I'll be discovered! Ha! (Wink, wink; can you see me laughing?!)

Later edit: Heard back from Mr. Tax and he had the meeting down for the wrong day. He felt terrible about it, so I'm giving him another chance. Besides, who wants to go find a new Mr. Tax this late in the game? That and he wants to order some product.

Pain

Boy, this is just the bad news bulletin, isn't it? I just found out that my aunt has breast cancer. Just got the call. Just hung up. And am still processing.

How? Why? They mentioned radiation; will she lose her hair? What about the breast? What can I do? How far along is it? Where are the best doctors for this sort of thing located? I just can't believe it... She is my mom's twin, so genetically, we are closer than most aunts. And she is one of my favorites. She read a poem at my wedding - Rumi's Music Master.

"We are the mirror as well as the face in it.
We are tasting the taste this minute
of eternity. We are pain
and what cures pain, both. We are
the sweet cold water and the jar that pours."

Pain. And the cure for it. We heal it, we listen to it, we recognize it, we comfort it. Anyone out there who has dealt with this, I'd welcome your tips.
