Favorites!

Ah, yes, it's time again to share some of my favorite recent online finds. What with Valentine's Day just around the corner, there are plenty of sweet and snazzy ideas abound! Enjoy!

Intamitts - Mittens For Couples
Intamitts are a sweet way to hold your loved one's hand even when the weather is chilly! There are a few sites that sell these, but this one has three colors to choose from - black, chocolate brown and red. Prices range from $33-45 a set (enough to cover four hands).

Not only are these chocolates gorgeous, they're organic! (Even if you aren't one to normally notice the organic label, it makes a huge difference in the quality of taste.) Snag some for your sweetie - I'm hoping mine will for me! Lilliebelle Farms has an amazing array of cordials, truffles, chews and the extremely popular Lavendar Fleur du Sel Caramels. Priced from $10+.

Roses are red... or pink or orange or yellow or... But they will smell twice as lovely when you buy them through OrganicBouquet.com. We recently sent a friend some lavendar roses and were blown away by how gorgeous and long-lasting they were. Many options to choose from.

And finally, for that special someone in your life, what could be better than custom-made jewelry sporting your true love's moniker? Or help the mother of your child keep her precious one close to her heart! Introducing "Precious One" necklaces custom made for you by, well, me! Choose a design with or without a birthstone, multiple pendants for multiple names, and more! If you are interested in learning more or getting an order form, please email info@bluebeancreations.com. Mention that you heard about it through this blog and get 5% off! Prices range from $35+.

Happy Heart Day to all!

Sales underway

The day before yesterday I sent out a dozen promotional pieces to various folks who I would love to have accounts with. Big brown boxes filled with goodness and my business card - I'm sure they have no idea what in the world it is, but that is part of the idea. Now comes the waiting.

Some of the boxes were delivered yesterday and a few today. I guess it is a bit much to expect the phone to be ringing off the hook just yet, but I still hold out hope for at least an email or two. Those accounts would be so great to have and could do a world of wonder for the biz in general. Still, I hate cold-calling, which is exactly what I'll have to get over this time next week when I call all these folks to check in. If I had one word of wisdom for anyone who is thinking about starting a business, it would be that you have to be good at sales. No matter what your business is about, sales will always come into play somewhere along the road to success.

The hubby, being in sales and all, actually has a bit of a small library on the subject. Guess I better go check a few of those books. I hope there aren't any fines for returning them late. I am always late with library books...

Yipeee!!

I just found out that an incredible woman that I am fortunate enough to call friend has recently become engaged! I just have to give a shout of congratulations to Cathy and Eric! I hear he proposed via a duct-taped message on a tarp - SO them. I am very happy for you guys!! Let me know if I can help!

On other good news, my nephew is half-way potty trained. "Say bye-bye to the poop!" is a phrase I never thought I'd hear from my sister's lips. Maybe I'll have to try that with the cats, since one of them has lately taken the stance that the closet is a much better litter box than the actual litter box. I keep hearing about cats who are potty trained. Is it too late for my boys?

Oh, and a quick reminder to some of my fellow small biz folks to be sure to check your tax schedule. Some of you may have filling coming up at the end of the month, so get those tax docs ready. A daunting task, I know.
